Overview
This applet for the Archos PMA was written to allow the user to force the
PMA to enter the sleep mode in a given delay. For example, if you whish to
listen music in bed, and you don't want the PMA to play music all the night.
Setup
This package, as any applet needs a Qtopia restart before the first use.
Description
The sleep timer applet is located in the applet bar. When you click on it,
a popup appears asking you to choose a delay (from 5 to 120 mins).
When your choice is made, click on the start button and that's it.
Don't worry if you choose the wrong delay, you only have to choose
again a new delay, and it will replace the first one.
If you choose after all, that you want to cancel everything, you
just have to choose "0 mins" and to click on start to cancel the
timer.
Caution
This applet is intended to be universal, whatever the programs you
are running, and you want to stop. For now, the only way I found to
do this is to program a restart of Qtopia. It is powerful but it
shall be used carefully, so don't use this on risky conditions, for
example:
- Don't connect the PMA to a PC with usb if there is a risk that it
enters the sleep mode before the disconnection. (risk of disk
corruption)
- Don't program the sleep mode if you want to program a recording
(audio or video), and there is a risk that it enters the sleep mode
during the recording. (risk of locking the recording device. A
complete reboot of the PMA is needed to unlock it)
